Creative movement: ages 2-4; introduction to dance movement with music.
Tap: ages 4 and up; Focusing on rhythm, style, and sound. The flexibility of the knee and ankles, coordination, and speed of movement.
Ballet: ages 4 and up; Foundational dance technique, including working at the barre, movement across the floor and building dance vocabulary.
Jazz: ages 4 and up; Building upon ballet fundamentals and progressing into body isolations with more complex movements including rhythms and tempo changes.
Tumbling/acro: ages 4 and up; Focusing on traditional tumbling tricks from somersaults to back tucks and acrobatic technique. Examples of acro include chest stands, elbow stands, balancing, and contortion tricks.
Stretch/Flexibility: ages 4 and up; focus on improving strength to improve flexibility to be used in both dance and tumbling
A strong foundation in ballet required for this class. Dancer must demonstrate proper technique before being permitted on pointe. Instruction given both at the barre and also moving across the floor. Pointe shoes will be worn by students once permission is granted. 30 minute class.
