I believe in reaching each student where they are while also encouraging growth and

exploration. Establishing a positive learning environment is essential in order to attain my goals

as the teacher. I feel an open relationship where the student feels safe and where they feel they

are heard fosters a feeling of comfort and allows the student to explore new things. It is my goal

to gain their trust and also to allow them to feel comfortable enough that they can ask for

guidance without feeling judged. In my experience as a Nurse Educator this method has

resulted in improved student learning outcomes as well as growth for every type of learner.

Establishing an open and trust-based teacher-student relationship is the foundation for what I

feel is the strongest method to delivering content.

I love dance because it is a channel to your heart.  It is a way to connect to your audience

through movement to music.  Dance allows you to tell a story without ever having to say a word.

I have always really loved the movement in a lyrical routine, and it is my favorite style of dance

to choreograph.  I love to teach because I enjoy helping others reach their goals.  I love to find

creative ways to push all of my dancers to step outside of their comfort zone.  I enjoy building a

bond with each one of them which helps me find a teaching style that suits them as an

individual.

Work Experience: 

Elite Silver Stars/Xtreme Dance Force, dance instructor, manager. Recreational and competitive

dance ages 3 to 15. Currently teaching competition classes covering styles of jazz, lyrical,

ballet, acrobatics and pointe as well as recreational beginner level jazz and ballet. 2015-present.

Also responsible for business side including handling day-to-day operations such as preparing

and sending correspondence to parents, scheduling all competition entries, ordering and

uploading all music, sizing and ordering costumes, securing recital venues as well as planning

and preparation of recital media (hype videos and season highlight videos), social media

management (Facebook and Instagram) and providing schedules to parents for events, 2018-

present. Well versed in Microsoft office applications as well as online registration portals.

Goals:

To continue to teach the fundamentals of dance and to pass along my love for it to each of my

students. I would like to try new things as I continue to mature in my dance journey.
